Vehicle classes and typesEdit

If a individual vehicle is of a unique and unnamed class or type that does not appear elsewhere, that class or type should not receive an article; instead, the vehicle's physical appearance should be described in the individual vehicle article. Generic background vehicles should not receive class or type articles. However, if two or more vehicles are of the same unidentified class or type, the vehicle class/type may receive an article.

As a general rule, a vehicle class or type must meet at least one of the following criteria to necessitate an article:

  • A canonical name.
  • Multiple instances.
  • Identification as a specific vehicle class or type in dialogue or descriptive text.
  • Significant development/behind the scenes information, such as inspiration.

The following caveats should be taken into consideration as well.
